Thank you for purchasing our Desktop Personal Fume Extractor. Please read this manual carefully and retain it for your future reference. Product Overview Our Fume Extractors are CE certified and the air purifying effect has been confirmed by the independent professional testing agency. Applications AF-100Series Desktop Personal Fume Extractor is used to filter and purify the harmful fumesand dusts generated during soldering, glue dispensing, laser cutting and marking and other industrial processes. Our Fume Extractorsare designed to protect the health of the workers employed to work with or assist with listed above processes. They are lightweight, compact and portable. The desktop fume extractor effectively eliminates smoke, odor, dust, hazardous gases and other pollutants. With multiple filtration layers, its filtration efficiency can achieve up to 99.97%. The purified air can be discharged indoors. Inspection of the unit upon arrival: Please check if all the parts of the system are included and are not damaged. Figure B: |
It is suitable for soldering work on the PCB in multiple locations. The suction power can vary depending on the distance from the suction slot. To optimize the suction the PCB can be moved along the suction slot to reach the two ends of the PCB.
With AF-101 it is possible to place the nozzle closer to the soldering joint. The nozzle shall be placed above the position where soldering fumesare generated. Please check before operating the unit:
Safety Precautions: Please take note of the following safety precautions to avoid fire or personal Injuries.
|
Working Principle: The machine absorbs the fumes through the air slot or the suction arm. The air will then flow upwards through 3 layers of filters where fumes, dust and odors will be absorbed and neutralized. The purified air will be pulled by the centrifugal blower and discharged from the outlet which is on the back of the machine. |
Attention: When the machine is working, do not cover the Purified Air Outlet with any object.Otherwise it will cause the machine to overheat and cause the damage of thethe motor and the control PCB inside the unit. |

3. Operation Instructions 3.1 Fume Extracting without the Arm
*Attention: The surface must be flat to make sure the base unit seats tightly on the top of the surface to prevent the leakage of the air. |
2. Connect the power cord and press ON/OFF switch. The green light will indicate that the machine is working 3. When the soldering joint is within 20cm from the air inlet, the suction is at optimal point |
3.2. Fume Extracting with the fume extraction arm.
*Attention: When adjusting the direction of the arm, the arm body shall be kept straight or bent gently. Otherwise the suction power may be affected. The nozzle shall face the work areas. The distance from the fume generation point shall be kept within 150mm. *Attention: The machine shall not be used at places with strong drafts which may cause the reduction of the suction power. 4. Troubleshooting *Attention: Please make sure to turn off the power before checking and repairing the machine. Problem 1: the machine still works but the air flow is very weak and the suction power has been greatly reduced Cause:Air inlet is blocked or foreign object exists inside the arm. The filter issaturated and clogged. Solution: Turn off the power and turn the main unit upside down. Check if there is any foreign object covering the Pre-filter. In there are no foreign objects, replace the Pre-filter with a new one. If the problem still exists, take out the Main Filter and check the suction power without it. If the suction power is normal, it means that the Main Filter needs to be replaced Problem 2: The green indicator flashes on and off, and the buzzer is ringing Cause:The Air inlet is blocked or foreign object exists inside the arm. The alarm sounds when the filter issaturated and clogged. Solution: Turn off the power and turn the main unit upside down.Check if there is a foreign object covering the Pre-filter. In there are no foreign objects, replace the Pre-filter with a new one. If the problem still exists, take out the Main Filter and check if the alarm still sounds. If yes, replace the Main Filter.
Filters and Maintenance AF-100 Series units use replaceable filters. When the filters are saturated, they need to be replaced in order to ensure the effective filtration and purification. P/N to order are listed above. 1) Pre-filter The Pre-filteris installed inside the Main Filter. The rough and fluffy side must face downwards. When the Pre-filter is saturated and its color have changed (See Figure 7) replace it. Also, when the indicator (Normal Working / Alarm) flashes on and off, and the buzzer rings, the Pre-filter needs to be replaced. 2) Main Filter Must be installed in the base properly. When the Main Filter is saturated and cannot eliminate effectively the odors or the fumes, replace it. |
